ALREADY NOWHERE

The New Music Video from

STORMCHASER

Reviewed by Pete & Nikki

Alert icon
Already Nowhere is the latest recording by Stormchaser written by Robert Kemp and Kevin Crase. Performed by Robert Kemp, Guitars, Kevin Crase, Bass and Vocals, and Pete Dawson, Drums.
Recorded at Studio 45 during November 2012.
We have known Robert, Kev and Pete for many years now, particularly when they called themselves Butterfly Blues, and Pete knew Kev Crase, or Crazy Kev, way back in the 80s, in the days of MOTF Switchboard magazine..

In their latest manifestation , as STORMCHASER, however, they have really made us sit up and take notice.

This track is everything we love about music, - great lyrics, great musicianship, and, as an added bonus, particularly as far as we are concerned, - a bit of psychedlic rock!

WOW WHAT A TREAT!

Lennie Gallant

IF WE HAD A FIRE

Reviewed by Pete & Nikki

We were guided to the music of LENNIE GALLANT by his couson, Hilary Hawkins, - and are we glad she pointed us in his direction!

Lennie is one of Canada's foremost performing songwriters, with nine albums and numerous awards and nominations from the JUNOs and East Coast Music Awards to his credit.

This album, 'IF WE HAD A FIRE' was actually released in 2009, and was voted the 2010 ECMA Roots Recording of The Year.

So it is quite surprising that he is hardly known here in the UK.

However, we have a sneaking feeling that is about to change.

Here is the listing for the album....

1. You Don’t Know How Beautiful You Are
2. Dance The Dark Away
3. Tell Me A Ghost Story
4. Flowers In My Heart
5. Be The Change
6. Emily’s Letters
7. The Ringer
8. If We Had A Fire
9. Wounded
10. Before We Sell This Car
11. The Coldest Road
12. Old Strings
13. Extraordinary Ordinary Life
14. Tonight I Drive You Home (Bonus Track)

We were both highly impressed by this album. Lennie has a great voice, slightly reminicent, we thought, to Chris Rea, but he is highly versatile, both vocally and in his subject matter.

For example, 'You Don't Know How Beautiful You Are' contrasts significantly from 'Tell Me A Ghost Story'.

The first is a wonderful romantic ballad, and the other is edgy, slightly spooky, with a great deal of humour mixed in with it.

The title track, 'If We Had A Fire' is highly original, both in it's lyrics and it's presentation.

Other tracks show a similar versatility, with 'Before We Sell This Car' and 'Old Strings' standing out as extremely original songs.

All in all, this is an excellent album, with something for everyone. We are hoping to do a feature on this very talented performer somke time in the future, with photos taken from this recording session.

In the meantime, - listen to some of the tracks by

Well, here we are at last, - a new single from Chesney Hawkes, - and what a cracker it is!

Ches is back in form, with a song that suits his voice perfectly, - with a superb video to match.

Slow, soulful and romantic, - it has everything that could propel it up the charts for Christmas.

A real Christmas Cracker in fact!

Coincidentally, The 'Time Takers' Video featuring Pete & Nikki is also due for release about the same time, - so they could all be on the TV Music channels at the same time!

IT IS SET FOR RELEASE ON 10th DECEMBER, - SO MAKE SURE IT'S IN YOUR CHRISTMAS STOCKING!

RHETT DAVIS

A HELMET & A CROSS

Review by Pete Perry

When we first heard this song, it's poignancy and beauty struck us straight away, but when Rhett explained the story behind it, both Nikki and I were reduced to tears.

Here, in Rhett's own words, is the story behind the song:

Hi Bruv Pete & Sis Nikki,

Here is the story behind the song.

"I was only two years old when my mother took me from England to Canada after my father died in WWII.

One of the few pictures I had was of a helmet and a cross on a battlefield with my father's name on it.

It was a very sad picture and it gave me such a lonely and empty feeling that I could never talk much about it or bring myself to write a song about it.
Recently a relative found my fathers grave in a most beautiful and peaceful cemetery in the hills of Italy.

When I saw those pictures it was astonishing to find such a weight lifted from me and although the helmet and a cross is still a sad picture, I understand that my father died for my freedom and has always been with me with his hand gently on my shoulder and his music in my soul.
So here is, A Helmet & A Cross (in memory of the fallen)

Please never forget THE SOLDIER!"

Bruv Rhett Davis

Believe me, this is a really beautiful song, with a beautiful, poignant story behind it.

Please go to our 'SOUND ON!' page to hear it for yourselves...

 God rest their souls,

Pete & Nikki

LEE FITZSIMMONS

A man for all Seasons and music for all tastes

By Pete & Nikki Perry

We first became aware of Lee Fitzsimmons through Facebook, and straight away, we felt an affinity with this man. his philosophy and his music.

Call it Serendipity if you like, but it is as though we were meant to find each other eventually.

Maybe he is an original member of The Magic Oak Tree Family, even though The MOTF was formed in 1968, we have only just met, and we live in different parts of the world!

 Lee is concerned with peace.

The only thing that matters now to humanity is peace. Peace in all of its numerous forms, from physical and mental well-being to the peace of nations, Lee is concerned with peace. From allowing a man to work for his family to allowing proper developments in the arts and sciences, Lee is concerned with peace. Sometimes showing himself for what he truly is and sometimes playing devil's advocate in order to let the enemies of peace display their weaknesses so they may be defeated, Lee is concerned with peace, and so are we.

Not worried about the current political situations, Lee views this struggle for peace as a situation that will play out over the next several centuries. Therefore, he is most concerned with the types of knowledge that will aid in this long-term vision for humanity, so that one day...

BUT LET US GET ON WITH THE MUSIC OF THE MAN...

We both love all types of music, and to us, versatility is one of a musician's greatest assets.

Enter Lee - a man who composes and plays music throughout the whole spectrum, - Jazz, Sylvan, Electronic, Symphonic, Rock and Reggae - and each composition is, literally, sweet music to our ears.

There is far too much for us to review in one go, SO - DON'T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT...

GRANDMA'S TEA PARTY

A Wise Man Told Me

Reviewed by Pete & Nikki

This is the single, by Norwegian band GRANDMA'S TEA PARTY that Pete had so much doing doing the video for.It is from the forthcoming album 'AMBIVALENT LIFE' - and it's a cracker!

An Indie group, the track is different from anything in the charts at the moment, what we would call Techno-Rock, it has great lyrics, a great melody and beat, and a hook that keeps it playing in your head long after you've listened to it!

We played it to people of several generations, and everyone loved the track

A SUREFIRE HIT IN OUR OPINION

The band consists of:

Steffen Sleire - Vocals
Andreas Srensen Hauge - Guitar/Backing Vocals
yvind Grimsgaard - Guitar/Backing Vocals
Kristian Tvedt - Bass guitar
Eirik Hella - Drums
Fredrik Svab - Keys/Sax/Backing Vocals/Various Rhythm Instruments

Six grandchildren from Bergen, Norway, who love music, tea and parties can only result to one thing: Grandma's Tea Party.
We make passionate music from our hearts, with funky riffs and lyrics and loves nothing more than playing live.

'THERE AINT NO PARTY LIKE MY GRANDMA'S TEA PARTY'

Love & Peace
