The first book Pete published was PASS ME A CODEINE, (see picture left) which told the story of Pete's experiences as  Nursing Attendant in The RAF in the 1950s, and told the story of how he met his first wife Dorothy....

After Dorothy's sudden death however, Pete decided to write his complete life down as it happened. This helped him cope with his problems, and was the start of his massive biography, HAVEN GRANDIFLORA!

The title came to him in a dream, and above is the first volume, THE SEEDS OF LIFE

Next came volume two, THE TREE AND THE WALL, which recounts theformation of THE MAGIC OAK TREE FAMILY (MOTF)

Following this was STRANGE DAYS which, although absolutely true, reads more like an occult thriller!

The next planned for this series is volume four, 'THE QUEST FOR GOLDEN DUSTERS', which tells how Pete met his second wife Shirley, marrying her a year before the One-Parent Family Allowance he had championed came into effect...

This will be followed by volume five, THE SEARCH FOR THE KEYS, which covers the period where Pete met Nikki, his third wife. All in all, there will probably be about eight to ten volumes in the entire series.

To order any of these books, go to PETE'S BOOKSHOP

The original cover for PASS ME CODEINE

Eventually, PASS ME A CODEINE was rewritten in 2008 and included in the HAVEN GRANDILFLORA! series.

It wasn't until 1999 that Pete published his first children's book, TALES OF WIDGERIPOO (above)

The publisher went bankrupt soon after, and so this, together with a sequel -

TALES OF WIDGERIPOO TOO was republished in 2004

THE SECRET OF BEDSIDE MANOR was originally written by Pete when he was 16 years old, but it was not published until 2009

This was followed up with THE SAINTS IN PARADISE, which began as an animated film script in 1957, but was not published until 2009

Although Pete had been writing about plants and the environment since he was a teenager, his first environmental book, THIS GARDEN EARTH  was not published until 2005

This was followed in 2006 with the sequel, VANDALS IN THE GARDEN
