CECIL THE SNAIL

Pete's constant companion for 64 years!

As Pete was doodling trying to get ideas for his school comic, Komic Kapers Weekly (The KK) in 1951, he happened to scribble a cartoon of a snail character.

His Uncle Harold happened to see it the next day, and asked Pete what it was.

'Cecil The Snail' Pete told him without even thinking about it, - and Pete's longest-lasting icon was born!

Since that day, 15th February 1951, when Pete was only 15 years old, Cecil has become very much a part of his life, appearing in his cartoons, on birthday cards and Christmas cards, and even in animation, featuring in FILMART STUDIOS very first animated cartoon film, DUET, which won The Pathe Open Award in 1954...

Cecil even went into THE RAF with him...

So, on 15th February 2016, CECIL THE SNAIL will be 65 years old and ready for his pension...
